Start with the named segment
At State Forest, the reviewed closure covers Michigan Ditch Trail and segments of American Lakes Trail during mitigation work. At Deer Creek Canyon, drainage work affects Meadowlark on particular weekdays and hours, with a planned shift to Lower Plymouth Creek on November 2. Neither notice establishes that every trail in the park is closed. Compare the named segment, schedule and official map with your intended route, including the return leg.

Recognize a whole-park closure when one is explicit
Meyer Ranch's notice explicitly closes the entire park for forest-health work from October 19, 2026. The expected spring 2027 completion is an estimate, not a confirmed reopening. That differs from a trail-segment closure. An older route description or a trail line on our community map does not override a current agency closure. Use the official park page for the latest decision before making this your destination.
Check who may use the trail
At Apex, designated trails have directional and alternating-use rules; bicycles travel downhill/east on even calendar dates. Rutabaga Ride at Lair o' the Bear is bike-only and directional, while part of Dakota Ridge South at Matthews/Winters is designated for mountain bikes only. A trail's presence on a map does not mean it is a walking route. Use the operator's activity rules and calendar to choose an appropriate alternative.

Recheck weather-sensitive access
Lory regularly closes muddy trails to protect their surfaces and directs visitors to its current COTREX information. That standing instruction is not evidence of a closure on a specific route today. Read the latest trail report just before leaving and follow posted restrictions on arrival. Our linked notices preserve the affected-area wording; mapped OSM routes remain community data rather than a promise of current access.
